Window handles are an integral part of uPVC frames and must match the frame that is currently in use. The most important factor is the spindle's length which determines if the new uPVC handle will fit.

Espag Handle
Espag handles are commonly found on Upvc (but they're also used in timber and aluminium). They feature an oval spindle that extends from the back of the handle, and is inserted into the multi-point lock mechanism which is attached to the window. Espag window handles are available in a variety of styles and functions. Some come with an option to push a button for locking closed, and key-locking. (And nonlocking for fire escape in the event of need.) Many of them meet the Secure by design specifications for an added level of security. They also come with various sizes of spindles, which can be altered by using spindle sleeves to reduce the size of protruding spindles.

Another crucial aspect of espagnolette handles is their step height. This is the distance from the bottom of the handle up to where it is placed on the frame, and it's crucial to make sure it's right to ensure a tight and secure fit. Like other types of handles you have the choice between straight and Cranked designs. Cranked handles are perfect for situations where the espagnolette handle will be placed close to the frame's edge because they provide more space to open the window.

Cockspur Handle
The Cockspur Window Handle was created for those who manufacture windows and want to provide their customers with an elegant and high-quality design. When you turn the espagnolette handle it activates the Yale Encloser locking system which is more secure than a traditional handle, such as a cockspur or British standard. This is because the handle espagnolette turns several locks to secure the window frame.
